May is a month of new beginnings! This month we're changing our Creation Care Thursday chat circle, moving towards a theme of the month, based on the Eco Bible, the Laudato Si', and other voices!
This month's theme is God's Land, and this is the third week of five for May 2025. (See below for the readings from weeks 1 and 2 .)
This week we are pleased to present Ed De Jong, who will speak about creation care from the point of view of the Bahá’í faith. He shares with us these quotes for reflection:
“Religion and science are the two wings upon which man’s intelligence can soar into the heights, with which the human soul can progress.”
"So powerful is the light of unity that it can illumine the whole world."
"The diversity in the human family should be the cause of love and harmony, as it is in music where many different notes blend together in the making of a perfect chord.”
"We cannot segregate the human heart from the environment outside us and say that once one of these is reformed everything will be improved. Man is organic with the world. His inner life moulds the environment and is itself also deeply affected by it. The one acts upon the other and every abiding change in the life of man is the result of these mutual reactions."
